Ros Asquith started out as a photographer, became theatre
critic for Time Out, City Limits and the Observer before emerging
as a cartoonist. She has had a number of cartoon books published,
and her strip, Doris, was a regular feature in the Guardian.
Ros
wrote and illustrated the best-selling Teenage Worrier series
about the angst-ridden Letty Chubb, which has been translated into
more than ten languages. Besides writing and illustrating her own
books, she has also written picture book texts illustrated by other
people, and illustrated children’s books written by other
authors, such as Anne Fine, Dick King-Smith and Francesca Simon.
She lives in London with her jazz critic partner and their two sons.
She has stroked a tiger, cuddled a wolf, caught an escaped
tarantula and juggles in a travelling circus, but mostly prefers
reading, eating fudge and trying to learn the violin. |
