Joseph was born in Birmingham but grew up in Lewes, East Sussex. He recently moved to Steyning, West Sussex, with his wife, their dog and two cats. They hope to start a family soon, mainly to stop them from putting their Chihuahua in clothes.

He has had numerous jobs, from printer to personal trainer, and currently works as a sales trainer. He is also a drummer, his band having released their first album in 2004, and is an avid snowboarder. One Clever Creature is his first attempt at writing, and his love of animals continues to inspire him as he works on his next children’s book.

Although born in Chelsea, Christyan Fox spent most of his childhood in Cheshire drawing and writing about cartoon characters and dreaming of exotic cars.

Now that he’s grown up he spends most of his time drawing and writing about cartoon characters and most of the money he earns on the terrible old cars he used to dream about, that constantly break down. This annoys his wife Diane, as she co-writes the books and feels that the money would be better spent on food, but it seems to amuse his two (soon to be three) children.

The only consolation in this sad state of affairs is a steady supply of chocolate biscuits. At 41 years old he really ought to know better.
