Tyne grew up in Canberra. She has travelled extensively and
lived in Cairo and LA, where she worked on and off on Hollywood
sitcoms. She now lives alone in a tragically small flat in Mayfair
pining for her twelve-year-old daughter/muse/consultant, Cordelia,
who attends an all girls’ boarding school, just like Calypso,
the narrator of Pulling Princes.
Perhaps as a way of keeping in touch with her daughter, she started
reading the books she was reading. Soon, inspired by Cordelia,
her sons and her own experiences at school, she began writing
Pulling Princes, a story about an American girl who is sent to
a boarding school in England. This is the first title in the Calypso
series and she is working on a further two titles.
By day Tyne argues with her temperamental laptop, “Nancy
Mitford”, and by night she parties. She’s also written
five adult comedy fiction books (a sixth is to be published soon)
and a number of articles for women’s magazines including
Marie Claire, Vogue and Elle.
