Gaby Hansen was born in South Africa where she attended the School of Art, Ballet, Drama and Music, then studied Graphic Design and Illustration for five years. She moved to London in 1998 and to date has had over twenty books published.

Gaby currently resides in the English countryside near Brighton, and draws on the inspiration of nature found in the South Downs for her illustrations. She particularly enjoys sculpture, film and travel, and can be found spending hours browsing through specialist bookshops.
