Ruth Symes is an author, scriptwriter and writing tutor. Her first book, The Master of Secrets was nominated for the Carnegie. She was the resident writing coach on The Richard and Judy Show and one of the judges of their Write a Children’s Short Story competition on Channel 4. A Derbyshire lad born and bred, Sean studied at the Mansfield College of Art and then moved to Bristol to study Illustration. Whilst there he began to create children’s books, which he found enabled to him to draw lots of gorillas and bears which made him very happy. He still lives in Bristol with his girlfriend, with whom he shares an allotment, two goldfish, a love of cake and a dream that one day they’ll get a dog and some chickens. Whenever possible, Sean likes to go on an adventure.
