Tony Maddox was born in Birmingham. After beginning his working
life as a graphic designer and illustrator, he realised a long
held ambition when his first book, Spike the Sparrow Who Couldn’t
Sing was published in 1989. He has now had many books published
including a series about Fergus the Patch-Eyed Pup, who has become
a popular character worldwide.
Some of the stories have been featured on BBC Radio and Television,
including the popular children’s programme The Tweenies.
Tony lives in Bromsgrove, Worcs. He is married with grown-up
children and grandchildren.
